After a week of nausea, dehydration, and passing out I am finally starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Today was the first day I have really had any kind of appetite. I was able to enjoy a small Rumbi rice bowl that tasted really good. Hopefully it's the beginning of more good meals to come.

  2. Hey Doug,

You are a champ and I am amazed at what you are going through. I dig the no hair look and if you could just add a van dyke beard with it you would look even more awesome.

We love you buddy and thank you for the update blog. Let us know if we can help.

PS. Don't forget the "Doug Out" because I haven't.....

  3. Hi Doug,

I have no idea what Rumbi rice is (I'm such a rube!) but it's *so* great that your appetite is returning. May this indeed be the gateway meal to a ravenous appetite.

  4. Doug,
Sorry to hear of your fight with cancer. I'm glad you had a good day and hope this is a turning point for you. In talking to my wife the other day about my health issues (Sarcoidosis) she made a comment that kind of puts things in perspective. She said,"Things will be ok, one way or the other". Her comment was in reference to just having faith that things will be OK. I know as I get older (which I do not like I still think I can run track like I did with you in High School), I gain a better appriciation for the term, "endure to the end",
Our prayers are with you and your wife, keep the faith, and old High School friend,

Rock (boy I haven't thought of that in a while)

  5. We send our love and support to you...we know you are a fighter! We appreciate your blog and the AFHS71 news we get. We know what a great family and wife you have and of course all your super great friends!! Preparing my Sunday school lesson this morning, I loved the counsel and scriptures in Section 25 that of course is "...my voice unto all." "Lift up thy heart...!"
    Love you!
